According to the latest data released by Thomson Reuters Essential Science Indicators (ESI) on November 15, 2018, the four disciplines of our school, namely materials science, chemistry, engineering, and computer science have entered the world's top 1% in ESI international disciplines. Our school ranks 1633/5757 worldwide, with a percentile of 28.37% (previous period 1669/5701, 28.28%), registering a 36-point improvement. The progress rate ranks first among 16 universities in JiangsuProvince.

According to the latest statistics from ESI, during the period from January 1, 2008 to August 31, 2018, among all the 434 institutions that entered the first 1% of the ESI computer science discipline, our school ranked 252th, 23 places higher than the previous period. The engineering discipline ranked 793 globally in 1,396 institutions, 21 places higher than the previous period; the material science discipline ranked 384 globally in 835 institutions, up by 5 places; chemistry in 1209 institutions in ESI worldwide Ranked 582, up by 3 places. Among them, the disciplines of chemistry and materials science are heading towards 0.4%, and the disciplines of computer science and engineering are moving towards0.5%.
