As the cicadas sing and the weather is fair in midsummer, another graduation season arrives. On the morning of June 12th, over 5,000 undergraduate graduates gathered in the new gymnasium of the Xianlin campus to celebrate the 2024 undergraduate graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony.

　　The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including Ma Junsheng, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), former Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the State Post Bureau, and alumnus of the 1978 class majoring in automatic telephone switching; Guo Yufeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of NJUPT; Ye Meilan, President of NJUPT; Professor Yan Xiaohong; Jiang Guoping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; and other university leaders and officials. The ceremony was also attended by heads of relevant departments, deans of various colleges, representatives of teachers, alumni, and representatives from security, dormitory management, sanitation, dining services, and parents. The first phase of the ceremony was hosted by Liu Qingshan, a member of NJUPT's Party Committee and Vice President.

　　Alumni are the cornerstone of NJUPT's enduring legacy, one of the most trustworthy forces, and a powerful driving force for the school's sustainable development. Ma Junsheng, the former Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the State Post Bureau, and now a member of the 14th CPPCC Standing Committee and the Social and Legal Affairs Committee, delivered a speech. 　　President Ye Meilan congratulated the undergraduates who successfully completed their studies and expressed sincere gratitude to the diligent teachers and families. In her speech titled The Pursuit of Youth Requires Persistence, she affectionately encouraged the graduates to follow their hearts, persist in their youthful pursuits, chase the light, and embark on new journeys to create brilliant chapters in their lives. She mentioned that over the past four years, they had experienced the three-year fight against the pandemic, celebrated the centenary of the Communist Party of China, witnessed the significant moments of the 20th Party Congress, and observed important developments of the university. She urged them to stay true to their original aspirations, maintain their ideals and beliefs, and continually strive to be the best in the best of times. He shared three expectations for the graduates: to become transmitters of information serving the nation by aligning personal development with national progress, to uphold integrity and trustworthiness, and to practice gratitude.
